RELAY FOR LIFE

I had a great opportunity to be able to walk in the Relay for Life this year with Don's work, Community Animal Hospital. And how fitting it was since my father just passed away from cancer last Friday. We drove home from the funeral just in time to get cleaned up and head out to walk. I was exhausted from the emotionally draining weekend but was determined to "walk it out" for my dad! It was a great tribute to him! Although I had many mixed emotions as I walked, it was an overall VERY great experience. Don and I showed up around 9 pm and I didn't get off the track til about 11:30. I personally lost track of how many times around the track I went but assumed I walked about 7 miles (28 times around the track) I also RAN two miles! YAY!! The girls were there with us as well and they were really cute as they stood on the sidelines and sold glow sticks! Who can pass up a sweet 3 year old yelling, "6 for a dollar! 6 for a dollar!" Man, I sure hope they find a cure soon! Here is us with our cool t-shirts:

Sporting the awesome glowsticks!!! Me and Mya on the track!!!!! My good friend from school, Ryan, was also walking!!! Too fun!!! The whole family, walking for a cure!!! I'm glad we got to teach the girls about this. A new tradition for our family!!!

Me sporting my dad's hat! Thought it'd be appropriate for the occasion

It was neat cause they lit up luminaries of all those who we lost to cancer. They went all the way around the track! Very touching and made you want to keep walking!!!!

Cool opportunity! Glad you did it. So sorry to hear about your dad. My father-in-law did the walk in Ohio for his wife (Bill's mom) who passed of cancer in 2000. Bring on a cure! Miss you guys!

Very cool that you were able to walk the relay for life.

I did check out your complete stranger and I totally love her blog. I added her so now I can read too. Here's the question. Do you ever comment on blog's you don't know or just read without letting them know?
