Happy REALLY late 7th birthday Aleah

Wow! I am so not good at this. So I publicly apologize to Aleah and my lack of staying on top of things with her. Not like I don't have alot going on in my life right now... right? But hey... better late than never... right? (is my just justification working?? :)) Without much ado....

Dear Aleah,

Happy SEVENTH birthday my beautiful sweetheart. I almost called you my little girl but I think that you are past that stage. As much as that makes me sad... I am SO happy to watch you grow into such a beautiful girl.

You have always been such a wonderful part of my life. I have loved watching you learn and grow in life. You love to come home from school (the 2nd grade.... already!!!) and tell me all about the things you are learning. I have loved to see the light in your eye as you "get" something. It is fun to watch you with Mya.... trying to teach her all the things that you are learning.

You absolutely LOVE to read. I am shocked when you came home one day from school and asked me for the book Ralph and the Motorcycle. WOW! You are reading books that big already?!? Needless to say... I was SO excited going to the bookstore to pick out new books for you. What a fun door we are starting to open. You also LOVE your computer games. You wake me up every morning asking me if you can play the computer :) You have just started playing the piano and this thrills me beyond all words! You are picking it up SO well and I have never been more proud!

You still have an imagination the size of Texas! I find you playing in your own little world all the time :) I hope that that innocence stays with you for a long long time. You are such a delight and you make friends so easily. I love how sweet you are to those around you. And especially to your little sister. You two are the best of friends and it makes my heart smile.

Aleah... I want you to know that I love you SO much. I am so grateful that the Lord put you in my life. The Lord knew what I needed when He gave me you! Happy birthday sweetheart! I love you!!!

After a long sweet hug from Mya this morning... she pulls away and says to me, "Mom, you sure could use a shower." ha ha... sweet moment over :)

Mrs.Susan (Mya's preschool teacher).... when talking about Kindergarten, Mya replied with, "Mrs. Susan, I have an imaginary friend who looks JUST like me and when I go off to Kindergarten, she will stay here with you so that you don't miss me too much!!!" What a thoughtful little girl I have. worried about Mrs. Susan's feelings. :)
Mya: (grabbing a phone and pretending to answer it) "Hello? Oh, hang on!.... Can you just give me a minute mom?" Oh she is so funny!
The other night the girls were suppose to be in bed and instead, they decided to lock themselves in the bathroom and play. I got upset and went and pounded on the door. I told them to unlock the door and let me in. All I heard next made me laugh so hard that I had to walk away. Mya, "I'm not going to unlock it.... You do it Aleah!" Aleah, "I'm not going to. I'm scared! YOU do it!" It was TOO stinkin funny how they were argueing about it. I couldn't help but laugh!!!
"Mom, hold me! My legs are sleeping!" What about the rest of you? "No, my body is awake. Just my legs are sleeping so that means you have to hold me." OK Mya :) :)

Milestones

Sept 22 '09 Aleah finally lost her first tooth. It's about time!!! :)
July 2009 Aleah starts 2nd grade and Mya starts Kindergarten
Feb 2009 After being potty trained for almost THREE years now... Mya is finally FULLY potty trained... which means at night times. We had the toughest time with this one but she did it. YAY MYA!!!
Feb 2009 Mya is FINALLY getting the sounds to the ABCs thanks for Leap :)
Feb 2009 Aleah can now read chapter books and is at a 2nd grade reading level.
March 3 Mya has decided that when she grows up she wants to be a teacher. What kind of a teacher? For bigger kids. She can't wait to grow up!!!!
Jan. 6th Mya is officially a big girl at church. Out of the nursery and onto the Sunbeams!! She LOVES it!!!
• Dec.10th Mya can now make her own chocolate milk and is SO proud of herself! Makes mom's life easier :)
• Dec.10th Aleah can now roll her tongue. She was SO excited when she showed me. I was quite impressed myself!!!
• Oct. 3rd Aleah read her first book all by herself. Bob books!!
• Sept.30th Aleah turned five
